Hello and welcome to LastingFruit - 10 Years later!!
WHAT is it all about?
WHO is it for?
WHEN will it appear?
WHY is it here?
The WHAT is this……seven sections for you to pick and choose from, depending on your needs and time available!
The WHO is YOU…..whoever you are and wherever you are. It is for each one who pauses and takes some time (not a lot) to look and ponder. You may be a follower of Jesus. You may not. Read on - whoever you are!
The WHEN is……hopefully every 4 weeks usually now on a Monday from Friday 2nd October 2015.........so let me welcome you to Issue 124.... and invite you to take time out with LastingFruit and dig around and taste the various seeds that are sown here as we take time-out over these weeks in October 2025......and ponder over this 10 year journey...read about the WHY below....wowsers! The world may be in pain, but God is still Soveriegn over all..His Word is still the best lamp for our feet and a light for our path.....and the Holy Spirit is needed more than ever.
May we all know a blessing as we journey through this year ....whatever the coming weeks and months ahead really mean for us .... I am so hoping and praying that we will all experience anew and see evidence of God's Kingdom rule and blessings - in our lives - in our communities - in our land and in our world in these uncertain days - and we give His Holy Spirit the freedom in our lives and churches to breathe and move and cleanse and empower and fill and use!
So let me encourage you to pause and take time out with God and His Word. Of course you can never go wrong digging around and finding out what gifts Father God has for you from seeds planted a while back...so some of the past fruits are now on separate pages.
But wherever you dig...new or older seeds...please please let God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit give you His good and fruitful gifts!
I hope you will have the time and opportunity to dig a little bit more in the Seeds provided - and to share the fruit you discover with someone else.
Thank you for taking time out to dig and read!
Thank you to ALL those who have visitied and browsed
and dug and read and chewed over the Seeds!
May fruitful blessings be yours!

The WHY…….well, I had started to notice that I was gathering a few memos on my mobile and tablet of notes, headings, Bible verses and earlier this year I realised that I had to do something with them. I spent a few months considering and praying over my options. Then, one Tuesday morning, in our Upper Room (a place with space to spend time with God every Tuesday) at church (Liberton Kirk) a member of my then housegroup visited the Room while I was there. She was confused about an issue and we looked at John 15 as part of our conversation. After she left, I spent more time in that chapter and it was as if the Lord was sitting on the sofa next to me. He was calling me His friend. I wept. He was challenging me about the fruit my life had and was producing. It all began to fall into place and with a sense of purpose I decided to lay LastingFruit before God. There were conversations with fellow-Christians and a lot of prayer!! Then, another Tuesday later, Isaiah 41 verse 19 was brought to my attention. Here was the 7-tree-blueprint I was to follow – I had no doubt. And so, 7 sections of LastingFruit were begun and since then the Lord has so graciously guided me, paused me, moved me on –
and here we are today!
I am not claiming any great revelations.
I am simply sowing seed that I have been told to do – and I leave it to
the Master Harvester to gather in the yield.
The sections are mainly from the Bible – looking at the Psalms, a theme, a passage highlighted some time in the past to me, what I believe – and I hope above all that you will ponder the words and maybe do some digging yourself, in the Bible, with someone else, or just on your own with God Himself. There is one section that is not like that. I have been encouraged and supported by so many others over the years and so I want to introduce people and songs and books and places to you that have contributed to my spiritual growth….I hope you will enjoy meeting them!
Any comments and questions are fully welcomed!
I hope that above all you will ponder the sections and let God’s seed take root and produce a lasting fruit! After all the lasting fruit God requires is not all about words. I can describe an apple or a bunch of grapes to you but tasting for yourself is far, far better! Lasting Fruit is soaked in prayer and seeks to produce fruit in our daily living – thoughts, words and actions – that will last in
God’s Kingdom.
Please taste and see for yourself!
